October is Walk & Roll to School Month – a chance for students, families, and schools to walk, bike, scooter, or roll together while practicing safer ways to get around their communities.
The AAA Walk & Roll to School Toolkit gives educators ready-to-use resources for teaching safer walking habits, tracking classroom participation, and keeping students engaged throughout the month. Schools can also come together for Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
Whether students walk or roll to school, practice pedestrian-safety skills, or participate in classroom activities, everyone can take part.

Grant funding may be used for eligible expenses such as educational and promotional materials, student incentives, food, books, event supplies, and custom apparel.
